A Prayer for our Nation

Father in heaven, our hearts are heavy from the events of this past week. From the news of the random stabbing of Iryna Zarutska, to the 9/11 memorials, to the murder of Charlie Kirk, one thing is crystal clear - OUR NATION NEEDS JESUS.

For ourselves, we pray that our heart would be right with You and that we would be completely surrendered to You. Fill us with your love and teach us how to speak the truth in love - the kind of love that points people to Jesus and longs for them to know You like we do. Please forgive us if we have been apathetic, complacent, or fearful.

Father, have mercy on our nation. Lies surround us and many are deceived. Let the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ shine like never before. For all those that do not know You, we pray that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes. May the Holy Spirit bring conviction of sin that leads to repentance and reconciliation with You. Heal those with broken hearts. Set the captives free. May Your kingdom come, and may multitudes see and experience Your infinite love.

Thank you for the thousands that have already decided to read the Bible, or go to church, or pray for the first time in years. Continue to draw people back to You. May they put their faith in Jesus, may they find the freedom of forgiveness, may they discover the joy of Your presence, and may they take hold of the hope of eternity.

Father, in the name of Jesus, be glorified in all these things. Amen.
